Clukey

Searsport - David Lee Clukey, 92, died peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, in Zanesville, Ohio with his daughter, Sindie, at his bedside. He was born July 19, 1932, in Frankfort, Maine, the first child of Lester and Edith (Miles) Clukey.
He grew up in Dover-Foxcroft with his siblings Carleton, Carmelita, and Dale. He attended Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1950, before enlisting in the US Navy. He proudly served in the Korean War on the USS Prairie as a radarman and sonar watchstander. Following his honorable discharge, David attended the University of Maine. He was soon employed by Pacific Telephone having moved to Sacramento, CA. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Teresa Velazquez of Mexico City. They eventually moved to San Francisco where they raised their two children, David and Sindie.
Following the passing of his beloved wife, Teresa, after a long illness, he returned to his home state of Maine in 2010. He spent the remainder of his life busy working on the home he built in Swanville, doing projects for his home in Searsport, and devoting time to his church. He became an avid traveler, with trips including England and Israel. He traveled to visit family and spent many good times walking or bowling with friends. He was loved by many and will be truly missed.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Teresa (Velazquez) Clukey; granddaughter Michelle Boscarino; brother, Carleton Clukey; and sister, Carmelita Simila. He is survived by his son, David Cloutier and his wife, Laura; his daughter, Sindie Clukey; granddaughters, Shawna and her significant other, Rian, and Danielle Cloutier; grandson, Brandon Cloutier; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Alexandrea, Justin, Adeline, and Branden; brother, Dale Clukey and his wife, Sandra; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held 1:30PM Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, Maine. The Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home and Crematory has been honored to serve the Clukey family locally in Ohio. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
