CORDELL

Daniel "Dan" R. Cordell, 75, of London, died Sunday, September 17, 2023, in his residence.

Born February 3, 1948, in Mechanicsburg, he was a son of Grant and Ruth (Coe) Cordell.

A farmer most of his life, Dan had also been a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a simple man who loved hanging out in "Papaw's Shop", where he showed his love for people by fixing things for them. His pride and joy were his family, especially his grandkids whom he loved to harass and joke with.

He leaves behind his high school sweetheart and wife of 53 years Linda (Boerger) Cordell, daughter Lisa (Steve) Thornsberry, son Matt (Amanda) Cordell; grandchildren Kayla (Justin) Long, Danielle Thornsberry, Arington Cordell, Aniston Cordell, Callie Cordell and Case Cordell; great-grandson Carter Long; brother Jim (Joy) Cordell and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Mason Cordell, sister Sandy DeWeese and brother Don Cordell.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, September 21, 2023, in Paint Memorial Cemetery, 1869 Old Xenia Road, London with Pastor Phil Starr officiating.
