CHASE

Cora Mae Chase, age 93, formerly of Hurricane, West Virginia, and currently of London, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Ward, West Viriginia, and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Opal Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, daughter Wanda Berry, brothers Joe, Harry, Buck, James, Hubert, and Wayne Tucker.

She is survived by her children: Larry Berry, Gary (Gayle) Berry, Gail Berry, who also served as her caregiver, and Tammy Cook; grandchildren: Michelle, Kyle, Kasey, Travis, and Amanda; great-grandchildren: Kierlin, Garrett, and Via; brothers William and Steve Tucker; sisters: Faye Meeks and Sheila Stewart.

The Chase family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses of Compassus Hospice for their kindness and compassion.

Cora was a lifelong homemaker. She loved cooking, crocheting, word search puzzles, and her high heeled shoes. She also enjoyed watching Charles Stanley.

She attended Adda Baptist Church in Hurricane, West Virginia before moving to Ohio. She loved her church and stayed in touch with several of the members after she moved.

Graveside services and interment at her request will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, beginning at 12:00 Noon in Valley View Memorial Park, 2466 Main Street, Hurricane, West Virginia 25526 with Reverend John Hayes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Cora’s name may be made to support Adda Baptist Church, 244 Sugar Camp Road, Winfield, West Virginia 25213.
