OWENS Claris Jean Owens (Hawkins), 79, of London, Ohio, passed peacefully at her residence Friday, August 22, 2014. Born December 18, 1934 in McCarr, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Lula Hawkins. Claris Jean was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church on Riley Ave. for 57 years. Her belief in Christ shined through in all aspects of her life here on earth. Although her kind and gentle spirit is now absent from the body, she will forever reside in the presence of the Lord. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Herman Owens; children, Louanne Fowler (Robert), Jeanie Davis (Bruce), and Kenny Davis (Jenny); daughter-in-law, Jeana Davis; siblings, Tom Hawkins (Mable), Bob Hawkins (Norma), Bill Hawkins (Diane), Donnie Hawkins (Teri) and Roy Hawkins; her 9 grandchildren, Chasity, Aimee, Jennifer, Todd, Alisha, Brooke, Britknee, Emily and Jamie; 12 great-grandchildren, Lorie, Austin, William, Ryan, Alissa, Larissa, Elijah, Shila, Nick, Tyler, Gaven, and Kiki; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, William H. Davis Sr.; sons, James R. Davis, William H. Davis Jr. and Jimmy R. Davis; siblings, Harold Hawkins, Marie Dowler and Larry Hawkins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME, 103 N. Main St., London, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Roy Hatfield officiating.
