HAYES Clarence Herbert Hayes, 84, of London died Friday, December 30, 2016 in Columbus. Born March 2, 1932 in Lawrence County; he was a son of Clarence E. and Izel (Wilson) Hayes. Herb had retired from Westinghouse in Columbus, had worked for the London Country Club and the former Hickory Grove Golf Course. He was also a retired minister from the Open Bible Baptist Church in London and ran a small farm. Survivors include his children Mary Jo (Todd) Daniels, Mark (Genevieve) Hayes and William (Katrina) Hayes; grandchildren Shauntae Davis, Tyler Goodman, Matthew Hayes (Brittany Cain), Jennifer (Adam) Shonkwiler, Katelyn (Geoffrey) King and Tabitha (Zachary) French; great grandchildren Layla, Adelay, Delilah, Isabelle, Louis, Hannes and Marceline; brothers and sisters Mary (Ronnie) Jones, Carrick "Butch" (Patricia) Hayes, Alice Haddox, Thelma (Larry) Brown and Robert "Bob" (Sylvia) Hayes, many nieces and nephews, several brothers and sisters in law, including sister in law Mary Hopkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 62 years Pricey Joyce (Hopkins) Hayes, brother Bailey (Mary) Hayes, sister Alma Lou Hayes and brother in law Walter Haddox. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday in Crossroads Community Church with Pastor Thad Gifford officiating. Interment will follow in Big Plain Cemetery.
