HARRIS (McSavaney) Cindy (McSavaney) Harris, 63, of Springfield, died Monday, July 24, 2017 in her residence.Born November 21, 1953 in London; she was a daughter of James and Jewel (Baird) McSavaney.Cindy retired as the associate director for Champaign Residential Services and had formerly been active in community events including Warm the Children, Monroe Co. Fair Chairman, Monroe Co. Mental Health Board, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Open Hands Free Store. Survivors include her son Ralph (McSavaney) Whitis; grandson Dominic Whitis; sisters Susan Waldren and Nancy (Willard) Brock; nieces and nephews Michelle (Scott) Harrington, Sean Henry, Jolynn Waldren, Josh McSavaney and Zach McSavaney; great nieces and nephews Nathan and Morgan Harrington and Bryan McDavid; aunt Maxine McSavaney several cousins and dear friend Cristy Foltz.She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James McSavaney, II and brother in law James Waldren.Per Cindy's request, she will be cremated and a graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29, at 1:00 PM in Deercreek Township Cemetery with Reverend Gordon Ell officiating.Donations in Cindy's name may be sent to a local food bank.
