It is with deep reverence and fond remembrance that we mark the passing of Christopher Paul Marks, an accomplished industrial designer, lifelong aviation enthusiast, artist, and above all, a cherished son, brother, and uncle. He departed this life on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the age of 55 leaving behind a legacy defined by creative excellence, technical mastery, and enduring devotion to those he loved.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 1, 1970, Chris possessed an early and innate curiosity about how things worked—an impulse that would guide the arc of his life and career. He pursued a career in industrial design, where his meticulous attention to form, function, and human experience contributed meaningfully to a range of projects across industries. When refining mechanical systems, he brought a balance of aesthetics and utility to everything he touched.
Beyond the professional sphere, Chris cultivated a rich inner world shaped by his many passions. A lifelong builder of model airplanes, he was drawn to the precision and beauty of flight from an early age. That interest evolved into his deep engagement with aviation—not just as a technical subject, but as a lived experience. As a pilot, he found solace and freedom in the skies, often sharing that joy with friends and family.
In quieter moments, he was an avid fisherman, finding peace on the water with a rod in hand. He was also a dedicated visual artist, producing work that reflected both his technical skills and emotional insight. His art, like his life, was defined by careful observation and a love for craftsmanship.
Yet perhaps the most enduring aspect of Chris' life was his role with his family. He was a devoted uncle whose presence brought warmth, wisdom, and encouragement to his niece and nephews. Whether through shared projects, heartfelt conversations, or simply showing up with quiet consistency, he became a steadfast figure in the lives of those who knew him best.
Chris leaves behind a family enriched by his example, colleagues inspired by his integrity, and a community shaped by his creative contributions. His life reminds us that true design—whether of objects, memories, or relationships—required care, clarity, and love.
He is survived by his loving mother, Eula Lee (Wright) Marks; sister Lesa (Michael) Marchiando; nephews Zachary, Seth, and Mason Marchiando, niece Evelyn Marchiando; aunts and uncles Lloyd Eugene Wright, Leon Kirkpatrick, Melba Marks; as well as many cousins.
Chris was preceded in death by his father Gene I. Marks and twin sisters Baby Girl Marks and Teresa Ann Marks.
A celebration to honor Chris' life will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM in the Global Methodist on Main, 28 Main Street, Commercial Point, Ohio 43116, with Pastor Brian Dunham officiating. There he will be fondly remembered with deep affection by family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Chris' name are encouraged to be sent to benefit the Global Methodist on Main at the address provided above.
The EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, is honored to be caring for the Marks family during this difficult time. Condolences and prayers are encouraged to be shared online at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
