FREY
Cheryle Doreen (Green) Frey, age 72 of Saint Paris, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 15, 2026, with her husband by her side.
Born on October 3, 1953, in London, Doreen was the daughter of Marion Cecil “Brownie” Green and Joan (Shoemaker) Green. A proud lifelong Ohioan, Doreen grew up in London, Ohio and was a graduate of London High School in the class of 1972. During her school years, her infectious energy and bright smile found a perfect outlet as a cheerleader, rooting for her community with unmatched enthusiasm. A gifted wordsmith, she also shared her sharp wit as a writer for the school newspaper, The Raiderscope, and had a passion for storytelling that she carried with her throughout her entire life.
On February 29, 1992, Doreen married the love of her life, David Paul Frey. Their unique Leap Day anniversary was a beautiful reflection of the joyful, special bond they shared for over three decades. Doreen found her true calling in the heart of her home, and her family was her absolute pride and joy. There was no achievement too small for her to celebrate, and no burden too heavy for her to bear.
Above all, Doreen was defined by her unwavering faith. As a devout, born-again Christian, her relationship with Jesus was the compass of her life. She was an active and deeply valued member of the First Christian Church of Urbana, where she found great joy in fellowship, worship, and serving her church community.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband, David; daughter Danielle Perry; granddaughter Marina (Grace) Sandoval; siblings Denise Green, Diann (Bruce) Fields, Darcy (Jaime) Albarran, Dale Green, and Deena (Cary) Bennett; sisters-in-law Laura (Dale) Stacy and Paula Pons, brother-in-law Dan Frey. She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Taylor Green, Kevin (Francie) Fields, Jennifer (Mike) Vitucci, Jaime David Albarran, Benjamin (Lynzee) Albarran, Adriana (Sean) Lee, Nathaniel (Christina) Bennett, Jacob (Danielle) Bennett, Jillian Bennett, Mikayla Stacy, Kris Pons (Austin Garrett and Ava Pons), Liz (BJ) Smallwood (Charley Smallwood and Oliver Smallwood).
Doreen was preceded in death by her parents Brownie and Joan Green and sister Deanna Louise (Green) Friend.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Artie Weisenbarger officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, London,
Memorials in Doreen’s name may be sent to benefit the Brotherhood Fund of the First Christian Church of Urbana, 113 Orange St, Urbana, OH 43078.
