MARTIN (DOWLER) Carol Sue (Dowler) Martin, 69, of Mt. Sterling died Wednesday, November 25, 2015 following a lengthy illness. Born November 15, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio; she was daughter of Elvin Leon and Dorothy (Penwell) Dowler. Carol had worked for OCI for many years before serving as assistant manager at the Sterling One stop. She was a member of the Antioch Free Will Baptist Church and also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post #417. Survivors include her son Shannon Martin (Angia Clay) of Mt. Sterling, daughter Hope (Solomon) Asefa of Columbus; grandchildren Amanda (Tyler) Smith, Keydan, Amel, Gabriela and Mykaela Asefa, great grandson Isaiah; twin sister Connie Lou (Maynard) Moody of Milford Center, several nieces and nephews and uncle Dick Dowler. She was preceded in death by her brothers Ray and Paul Dowler. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St, London with Reverend James Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in South Solon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 AM until time of services Wednesday.
