Carla Ann Koesel, age 66, of Urbana, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of joy, warmth, and an unforgettable smile that touched all who knew her. Born on May 30, 1959, in Cleveland, Carla was the daughter of Carl Koesel and Wanda (Woo) Koesel.
Carla found great happiness in her daily routine, especially during her time at MATCO in London, where she formed lasting friendships and truly felt a sense of belonging. She later transitioned to Active Day (PCS), where she continued to build meaningful connections and remained until her retirement.
Carla found joy in life’s simple pleasures—bowling, sharing a good plate of spaghetti, and enjoying “girl talk” with those she loved. Her laughter was contagious, her smile could brighten any day, and her joyful spirit made every moment spent with her feel special. She had a kind and loving heart, and a beautiful way of connecting with others that made everyone feel seen, valued, and cared for. Carla’s presence was truly unforgettable; she brought warmth, comfort, and happiness wherever she went.
A devoted fan of The Golden Girls, Carla delighted in the humor of her favorite show and loved sharing those laughs with others. As an active member of the Peoples First Advocacy Group, she took great pride in her involvement and deeply cherished the friendships she made. Carla’s genuine, fun-loving nature and radiant spirit were a gift to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by those blessed to have shared in her life.
Carla is survived by numerous dear friends at the Paul Loffing Rainbow Unit of CRSI, as well as many friends in London, where she lived for many years.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home and Crematory, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Bruce Sigmon officiating. Interment will follow in Paint Memorial Cemetery in London.
Memorials in Carla’s name may be sent to benefit Champaign Residential Services Inc., c/o Paul Loffing Rainbow Wing 2380 St. Rt. 68 S. Urbana, Ohio 43078.
