VITALE
With deep sorrow and profound shock, we share the sudden and unexpected passing of Bruce Edward Vitale, age 64, who passed in his residence in London, Ohio, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 – Veteran's Day. His loss has left a void that words cannot fully capture, and he will be missed more deeply than we can ever express. He left too soon.
Bruce was born in Albion, Michigan and attended Springport Public Schools. He grew up on Duck Lake and spent much of his youth in the woods and in the swamps hunting for snakes and frogs. He enjoyed many exotic reptiles as pets over the years.
For more than 12 years, Bruce proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, Air Force, and the Army National Guard. He honored his uniform, his country, and every person who served.
Outside of his military service, Bruce found his greatest peace on two wheels. An avid bicyclist, he greeted each day with the open road ahead of him. Often in his life he chose his bike over a car because he loved putting miles behind him. While stationed in Europe, he often rode 40 miles a day to and from the base. In the last ten years he was a recognized figure on two wheels around London, as he commuted to work year-round, in the heat, rain, and snow.
His presence brought comfort, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled. He will be remembered always for the miles he traveled, the service he gave, and the love he leaves behind.
Bruce is survived by his daughter Meghann Stone Vitale (Angel); two granddaughters, Cassandra and Sophia; sister Eve (Mark Richardson) Vitale; half-brother Todd Slone; three step-sisters Dawn Abbey, Michele Taylor and Heather Everett; nieces Audrey (Patrick) McDonough and Dana Warnez, nephew David (Kelly) Warnez; aunt Marilyn Hardwick; cousins Kristina Clevenger (Steve) and Todd (Kathy) Clevenger; dearest friends Linda Clifford and Heidi Harwell; numerous other friends from the community he so deeply appreciated.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roger Hugh Vitale and Kathleen Ann (Racine) Vitale and stepfather, Ray Lavern Everett, as well as his son Conner Vitale.
