MAJOR (SHUMATE) Beverly (Shumate) Major, 71, formerly of London died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Mount Vernon. Born September 28, 1943 in London; she was a daughter of Floyd Arthur and Freda Mae (Butcher) Shumate. Bev is survived by her daughter Amanda Major; sister Chris (Dave) Morris of Centerburg, nieces and nephews Sarah (J.P.) Letki and Rebecca (Gary) Fraley; devoted companion of 7 ½ years Will Pratt of London and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother Freda, father Floyd and husband Glenn Major. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Sunday, May 24, 2015 in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London with Reverend Steve Rodgers officiating.
