THIEL
Beverly Jean (Alfred) Thiel, age 72, passed away Friday February 28, 2026, in Hospice of Central Ohio after a 12 day stay at the James Cancer Hospital.
Born May 16, 1953, in Columbus, she was a daughter of Harry Allen Alfred and Hazel Marie (Sandy) Alfred. Bev was a 1971 West Jefferson High School graduate. For 34 years, she was a dedicated employee of the Kroger Company, where her strong work ethic, kindness, and reliability left a lasting impact on her coworkers and customers alike. She believed in doing things the right way – with care, patience, and a warm smile.
Bev’s greatest joy, however, was her family, especially her grandchildren. Nothing meant more to her than time spent together, celebrating milestones, or simply sharing everyday moments. She created a home filled with love, laughter and comfort.
Left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of almost 54 years, Ben Thiel; son Chad Thiel (Patty Rich) and daughter Belinda (Chris) Dunn; grandchildren: Bricker and Hunter Thiel, Rylee and Clayton Dunn; siblings: Linda (Don) Gibson, Eva (Tom) Thiel, Harry (Sherrie) Alfred, Diana Norman; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Linda LeVan.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Hazel Alfred; siblings: Sue (John) Essner, Kitty Damron, Mary VanVlack; mother and father-in-law Frances and Ed Thiel; brother-in-law John Thiel.
The Thiel family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 6, 2026, in the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM with Mr. Bill Henry officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery.
A special thank you goes out to the care team of Stephanie Spielman Cancer Center, Dr. Ashley Davenport, Sara, and case manager Shannon.
Online condolences for the Thiel family are encouraged to be shared at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
