MATTHEWS Beatrice E. Matthews, 87, of London, died at 8:40AM Wednesday, August 14, 2013 in Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus. Born June 6, 1926 in Greentree, PA, she was a daughter of Benedict Wilhelm and Margaret Ruth (Heckler) Miller. She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Irwin, Pa. Survivors are her Daughter, Joan A. (William) Cox of London; Step Grandchildren, William H. Cox, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA, and Dana L. Latham of Greenville, NC; numerous step great grandchildren; one step great great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband, Robert E. Matthews, preceded her in death on March 15, 1984. Also preceding her in death were her parents; her twin sister, Bernice Gross; sister Louis Hughes; and a brother, Donald Miller. Services will be conducted at 11:00AM Saturday in the Lafayette United Methodist Church with Pastor Carolyn Peacock officiating. Friends may call at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY in London from 4 to 7PM Friday. Additional services and visitation will be conducted at the James Lindsay Funeral Home in Harrison City, PA. Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery in Irwin, PA.
