SUMMERS

Barbara Joye Summers, 82, of Lancaster, Kentucky passed away January 11, 2023, at her home. She was born on December 4, 1940, in Flora, Illinois to the late James W. and Mae Cloud Summers.

Barbara was a veteran of the US Air Force. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree and retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Barbara enjoyed baking, drawing, staying active, and birding, just to name a few favorite pastimes.

She was simply a free spirit that was spunky, giving, caring, and loving. Barbara was a dedicated mother, who left so many wonderful memories for her family to always cherish.

Surviving are her children, David Yokum (Kathy) of Plain City, Ohio, Neva J. Alles of Buffalo, New York, Angela Anne Hahn (K. Michael) of Lancaster, Kentucky and Gloria S. Basak (Indranil) of Oregon City, Oregon; grandchildren, Tyler Michael Hahn (Casey L.), Sebastian and Anina Yokum, Priyanka and Sanjana Basak, and great-grandson, Cole Michael Hahn.

A private family service will be held at 12:00 Noon on August 19, 2023, in the Paint Memorial Cemetery, London, Ohio.
