SWANEY

Barbara Jane Swaney went to be with the Lord November 1, 2022 at the age of 84.

Born January 5, 1938 in Columbus, she was a daughter to Luther and Mary (Cross) Bryant.

Barbara was a kind, and selfless woman who always showed up for family and friends.  She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family.  Our mother loved cooking, baking and bowling.  She was a North High School alumni, home of the Polar Bears.  She grew up near The Ohio State Campus and often played in The Horseshoe Stadium as a child. She became an avid Buckeye Fan.  Her smile and kind heart will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children Deborah Swaney of Hollywood, FL, David (Tina) Swaney of London, William Swaney of Pensacola, FL, Karen Swaney of Grove City, Mary (Tom) Williamson of Columbus, and John (Cinnamon) Swaney of West Jefferson; grandchildren Albert, Colane, Alex, J.D., David, Mitchell, Kate, Meredith, Bryan, Seana, Jeffrey, Laci, Thomas, Austin, and Lexi; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Husband David O. Swaney and parents Luther and Mary Bryant, and Brother Luther "Butch" Bryant.

The Family will observe a private celebration of life. Barbara will be interned in the Union Cemetery in Columbus Ohio with her Husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation in memory of Barbara be sent to the Capital City Hospice at The Hope Foundation 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr. Suite 170 Columbus, Ohio 43231.
