WELLS

Aureta "Petey" Wells, 89, of Mount Sterling, died Friday, November 17, 2023, in the Madison Senior Living Community surrounded by her family.

Born July 21, 1934, in Ross County, Ohio, she was the daughter of Earl Crabtree and Mary (Dowdy) Crabtree.

Aureta leaves behind three children: Marci (John) Darlington of Mount Sterling, Doug (Karen) Wells of London, and Lori (Kory) Metcalf of Grove City; grandchildren: Eli Darlington, Todd (Kelly) Cordetti, Stacey (Seth) Fry, Max (Lena) Darlington, Emily (Ricky Critchfield) Darlington, Aaron (Lauren) Wells, Emma (Dominic) Stacer, Eliza (Jay) McNelly, Nate Wells, Ashley (Danielle) Kidwell, Nicole (Jacqui) Kidwell; numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband David Eugene Wells in 2021 and a son Robert David "Bob" Wells.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, beginning at 11:00 AM in Ebenezer Cemetery, Mount Carmel Road, Vinton, Ohio.

A Celebration of Aureta's life is being planned for a later date.
