THACKER

Arthur Allen Thacker, Jr., 97, of London, formerly of Florida, died Thursday, October 29, 2020 in Madison Health.

Born September 24, 1923 in Fairfield, IL; he was a son of Arthur Allen, Sr. and Bernice Ethyl (Cross0 Thacker.

Arthur retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the US Air Force, having served his country as a pilot and fighting in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Following retirement, golf was his new found passion; so much that he even went to PGA school.

Survivors include his wife of 75 years Betty Louise (Meyer) Thacker; daughter and son in law Judith and Darrin Stromquist; grandson Scott Stromquist, granddaughter Rachel (Carson) Hiser; great-grandson Everett Stromquist and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. Arthur will be in the Dayton Nation VA Cemetery with a private service attended by the family.
