IDLEWINE

Arlene (Wollam)(Brown) Idlewine, 79, was born February 18, 1945, and passed away peacefully from COPD in the Madison Senior Living Community on Friday, May 24, 2024, with her sisters by her side.

Arlene was born along with her identical twin, Eilene, to parents Warren Wollam and Laurabelle (Ballard) Wollam in Cleveland, Ohio. She and her family grew up on Arbuckle Road, where they had the best neighbors who became lifelong friends. Arlene attended school in Somerford for primary education, and later graduated from London High School in 1963. Following her high school graduation, she attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She married Warren K. Brown and together they moved to New York.

In 1970, Arlene received her Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio. The following year she received her Master of Education in curriculum and supervision also from Wright State University. Arlene received her Master of Education in Administration in 1973. She then received her Doctorate in Philosophy in Administration from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1976.

Arlene served as the Director and Administrative Head Mistress at Center City School, Dayton, Ohio. Additionally, she was a private consultant and adjunct assistant professor for three universities in Ohio and Indiana. While living in Indiana, Arlene served as the executive director of Central Indiana Council of Camp Fire as well as the Director of Indianapolis Parent Child Development Center. She retired from Indiana public schools.

Arlene married Lenord Idlewine in Indiana where they had a small farm. She raised vegetables and flowers which they sold at their roadside market. You can't take the farm girl out of the country for long! Arlene loved her hobby and the friends she made through gardening and flowers.

We want to thank Madison Health, the Madison Senior Living Community, and Vitas Hospice for everything they did for Arlene. They all did exceptional jobs.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents Warren and Laurabelle (Ballard) Wollam; husband Lenord Idlewine; brother Ivan (Donna) Wollam.

She is survived by sister Carole Kowaluk of Powell, Ohio, and twin sister Eilene (Bill) Duncan of London, Ohio; nieces Laura (Scott) Weinflash of Arizona, and Adina Wollam of Arizona; nephews David (Joyce) Duncan of Twinsburg, Ohio, Devin Duncan of London, Ohio, Brian (Brenda) Kowaluk of Powell, Ohio, and John Wollam of Arizona; great-nieces Kaleigh Duncan of London and Brook Kowaluk of Powell, Ohio; great-nephews Eric (Jackie) Duncan of Ashtabula, Ohio, Brent (Quinn) Duncan of London, Ohio, and Brady Kowaluk, of Powell, Ohio; great-great nieces Miranda Baltz, Amelia, and Allison Duncan of Roaming Shores, Ohio, great-great-nephew Adam Baltz, also of Roaming Shores, Ohio.
