KERN
Ronald Edward Kern, 80, of London, died Monday, March 25, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 12, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a son of Rawley Kern and Marie Josephine (Grove) Kern.
Ron married the love of his life, Linda (Armstrong), on November 26, 1963, and together they raised four sons: Jeffrey, Ronald, Russell, and Richard. He began his career as a truck driver in 1977 to which he devoted many years. Additionally, Ron had been a volunteer fireman for Bloom Township in Lithopolis, Ohio, prior to relocating to central Ohio. He then worked for Central Townships Joint Fire District and later retired as a lieutenant. A man of strong faith, Ron also served as a Deacon for the Fountain of Truth Ministries in London.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years Linda Kern; sons Jeffery (James Welch) Kern of Port Orange, Florida, Ronald Eugene (Heather) Kern of Waynesville, Ohio, and Richard (Dianna) Kern of Sevierville, Tennessee; grandchildren Stephen (Teia) Kern, Adam Perkins, Austin Perkins; great-grandchildren Addison Kern and Owen Kern.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; son Russell Kern; granddaughter Alicia Kern.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, beginning at 12:00 noon in the Fountain of Truth Ministries, 135 Maple Street, London, Ohio 43140, with Pastor Tyrone Artis officiating. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Georgesville, will be completed at a later date. The family will receive friends at the church for visitation on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
Memorials in Ron’s name may be sent to benefit the Fountain of Truth Ministries.
